Learning how to colour correct

It was very important that we learnt how to use the basics of editing software. After we had got to grips with the programmes we then learnt more advance techniques such as colour correction. The videos below are where we learnt how to use the software and how to colour correct.

Now we have learnt the basics of editing we are now able to more on to more challenging stuff.

We are planning on using colour effects in our music video when Eleanor is dancing. In order to get the best results we must first practice and find tutorials on this.

Analysis of feedback from our website

We wanted to see what our teenagers within 15-25 thought about the website we created, seeing as they fit within the target audience and type of people that would use it, meaning we wanted to insure they would be satisfied and able to navigate their way through it easily.

We asked what they liked and disliked about our website and if they felt it was easy enough to use/ we had to improve. The majority said that the website was very easy to use and had most of the information they wanted to see on it. A number said they would have wanted to have seen the music video on there, which we took into consideration and did. In addition, we tried to adapt the colours so they were more similar (which a number of them seemed to pick up on).

As a majority of our feedback, our peers said we should add the music video and CD cover in order to make our website more representative of an actual artist. Therefore, we made these changes.

Overall our feedback was very positive as our audience agreed that the website looked very professional due to the fact that it was simple and easy to navigate around the website, Additionally, our feedback showed that everyone liked the black and pink colour scheme as it matches our digipack and music video very well, making our work consistent

Feedback on our website

Feedback from our target audience on what we should change:
From going around different media classes and outside of lesson time, I gained feedback in order to improve my website and make it the most professional looking.

•They really liked the Home page Picture, so we should keep that as our main front page, though, they found the marble background and pink font too girly and tacky.
•We should change the colour scheme to make it more professional and representative of our artist - to simple colours like black and white as that is simple yet stylish.
•The layout of tour dates shouldn't be so small and claustrophobic when there is a wide space

From this we have decided that we will change the home page and colour scheme, as well as change the format for different bookmarks.

Gathering Audience Feedback

What's the point of doing a survey?
  • To find out what your audience wants to see and the type of music they like .
  • To help you make production decisions that will attract your target audience.
  • To show you have developed a music video that is relevant to your target audience.
  • To show that you have an understanding of the importance of audience in music production.
Qualitative Research
  • This method of research questioning aims to discover the opinion and preferences of the target group.
  • The questions in this type of research will be open or probing questions.
Quantitative Research
  • This method of research questioning enables the gathering figures or data.
  • You will use this type of questioning when you want to record statistics on audience preferences.
  • Closed questions are used in quantitative research.
We are using both these research methods in order to gain a wider understanding of our target audience and how to attract them.

We have undertaken research into our target audience throughout all stages of the planning and production. This included the following:
1) Pre-production surveys:
  • Before we began we researched into different genres and target audiences.
  • Interviewed our potential target audience regarding our initial ideas.
  • Got feedback from our target audience via our animatic and how we could improve this.
  • Received feedback on our main singer/ artist and whether their rehearsals were effective.
  • Obtained feedback on our first draft.
  • Feedback on our second draft.
  • Feedback on our finished music video.
2) Post-production surveys

Methods of carrying out a survey
  • Focus groups
  • Random surveys which include survey monkey sent out to other schools.
