There were several titles that we needed to create for our opening sequence:
- Title of the film
- Production companies associated with the film
- Credits
Title of the film
The title sequence above was also created on After Effects. We created it by adding more complex elements than the one above such as the knife used in our film poster. We added an effect to the knife which meant that it would gradually drop down and then go back up again, following the reveal of the film title. We made the title of the film in bold red letters and added an effect to this as well which meant that it would gradually reveal each letter in a dissolve effect. The title sequence on the left is another title that we created to use in our opening sequence. To make this we downloaded a royalty free video of blood dripping from YouTube. We then imported this video into our opening sequence in Premier Pro and added our title 'The Captive' over it.
Production companies associated with the film
The image below is the image that we created for the title sequences in our opening sequence. We decided that we wanted to aim to create a simple yet eye catching logo that would look professional as well as effective. After going through several different ideas we decided that we wanted to create the image of a bubble, as this was fun and simple. We created the image using Microsoft Word by simply adding in a bubble shape and adding colour effects to it to make it slightly transparent like a bubble. We also added smaller bubbles to add to make it look more realistic. After this we added the title of the production company's name. We decided to make the company name 'Bubbl productions', simply because we felt it was effective yet simple and matched the image we were using. To finish off this logo, we imported the finished image into After Effects and added a bubble effect to make the image move. To further improve this we decided to add the sound of a bubble popping into the sequence. We got this sound effect from YouTube and we made sure that it was royalty free before we used it in our opening sequence.
The video above shows a logo for a production company that we made to consider as an option to be used in our opening sequence. For the writing in this we chose to use the initials of all of our names as we felt it was significant and a way of making the production company more personal. The writing was then placed on a black background and then we added colour to make it look more exciting. We then added this image into After Effects and animated it by adding a dissolve effect to it. We added this effect because we wanted it to look simple yet exciting and eye catching. We decided that this effect met these qualities. This is shown in the video on the right.
The video above is of a title sequence for a production company that we created as an option to be used in our opening sequence. We decided to name the production company 'Bubbl productions', simply because we felt that it was fun, simple and professional as it is not directly related to our film. We made this by finding a royalty free video of bubbles and then added a sound effect to make it more realistic. We did this in Premier Pro as this was the program that we were using to edit our opening sequence. We then added writing over the top of the bubbles in white bold text.
Above is a video which shows one option for a production company logo that we created to use in our opening sequence of our film. We chose to name the production company using the initials of all our names., 'TEAO productions'. We used a program called After Effects to make this title and then add a typewriter effect to it. We then added the typewriter sound effect to it to make the effect stand our even more.
