Clean Bandit ft. Louisa Johnson- 'Tears' analysis

This music video was Louisa Johnson's first original single. This video creates her image as a debut solo artist due to it being her first single, she is shown to be quite cool and edgy due to the way the video was shot and edited. As well as this, Louisa was lip syncing which presents her as a performer and pop star. Also, the choreographed dance routine helps create her image as a pop star

The genre of music can be related to the visuals. The bright pops of colour and the slick shots of paint bursting and water drops matches the pop genre.

This music video has a narrative about break-up's and how to be powerful, which represented through the constant use of fire being held and on the instruments. This narrative is also presented through the lyrics and the name of the song 'Tears'. The lyrics tell a story of a bad break up, and the lyrics correlate to what we see on screen.

Overall, the music video for 'Tears' reflects the pop genre and the narrative of the video. The video cuts to the beat an uses a variety of different editing and camera techniques. I really enjoyed the parts of the powder paint exploding and the fire and water that we saw, which came alongside close ups of Louisa Johnson singing or wide shots of her with the band Clean Banditt.
