Using Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop

We were given the two photographs, and an image of a poster. Our task was to recreate this film poster using adobe photoshop.

At first we started with the image of the background, using editing techniques, we added adjustment layers to change the appearance of the image. The first one we used was saturation, making the image darker and more eerie. Next we added the selective colour adjustment layer to give a sense of a shadow. After this we created a light source from behind the trees to replicate the poster, we did this by using the burn tool. Finally for the background we shaded the bottom half to give it a darker colour, then created highlights by using a soft brush to draw the light source as a faint, cyan glow.

Next, we added another layer to place the figure on top. Using many different blur tools and clipping masks, we fit the figure into the correct place as the original poster had shown. Once the figure had been placed, we gave it a shadow from the light source to make the poster look even more like the original. Finally, we added the text of the 'Fugitive'.

Below in the smaller image is the original poster, and underneath is our attempt at the poster.
